How to get there?

Koh Lipe can be reached from Pak Bara pier in Satun province, southwest Thailand and Langkawi, Malaysia. Pak Bara is around two hours drive from Trang or Hat Yai. You can get a minibus transfer to Pak Bara from in front of the train station in both cities. To catch the last ferry toKoh Lipe, the latest you should leave by is 11.30am. The ferry operates from 1st November to 15th May. Pak Bara pier is the most used departure point for Koh Lipe.

Both Trang and Hat Yai can be reached from Bangkok by plane, train or bus. You can also easily get to Hat Yai from Malaysia and Singapore.

A ferry service from Langkawi in Malaysia directly to Koh Lipe has just opened, with passengers clearing Thai immigration in Langkawi.

Domestic and short haul flights in this part of Asia are offered by Thai Airways, Air Asia, Malaysian Airlines, Silk Air and Tiger Airways from Singapore.

What to bring?

As Koh Lipe is a fairly remote island, there are few facilities. Most importantly, there is no ATM or bank, so you should bring enough cash to cover your stay. We do accept credit cards for diving and resort guests, however, there is a 5% banking charge to use this facility. We also accept most hard currencies, such as euros, dollars and pounds… but we do not accept travelers cheque's. The nearest bank and ATM is in Langu, near Pak Bara. There are a few small shops on Koh Lipe where you can buy provisions and some useful items, but we recommend that you bring with you things such as sunscreen and medication etc. Some items can also be bought in Pak Bara or Langu.

Communication

Since November 2004, Koh Lipe has had a mobile phone network signal (DTAC). Recently AIS started covering Koh Lipe too. There are several on Koh Lipe where you can use the internet for around 3 baht for 1 minute. Forra has Wifi available for it's customers.
